Earlin E. Kunkel, 75, of New Tripoli, died on Friday, December 25, 2015 in his residence. He was born and grew up on the family farm in Lynn Township, a son of the late Lewis and Daisy ( Snyder) Kunkel. Earlin was a life long truck driver for various local companies including the former Walter C. Baer Co.,the Horwith Trucking Co., Schuck Trucking Co. and currently for the Edward Yesik Trucking Co., Slatington, Pa.
He was a life long race car enthusiast and former race car driver. He recently helped in the pit crew of the Brett Kressley Racing Team. Earlin loved hunting and volunteering with the Community Fire Co. New Tripoli, Pa., where he served as the Captain of the Fire Police Association for many years. He is survived by three daughters, Beth L. wife of Kenneth Mantz, New Tripoli, Lisa E. wife of Scott Sell, Schnecksville, Sherry A. wife of Kyle Smith, New Tripoli; a son Jonathan E. and his wife Sheila of Emmaus; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
His Memorial service will take place ofn Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ebenezer U.C.C. Church 7293 Decatur Street, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM. Rev. Kevin E. Fruchtl will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory are requested to the Community Fire Co. sent to the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066
