Carl E. Hamm, 75, of Slatedale, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2015 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa. He was the husband of Jean E. (Owens) Hamm, having celebrated their 54th wedding aniversary in October of 2014. He was born in Lynn Township a son of the late Elmer A. and Arlene M. ( Fenstermaker) Hamm.
Carl was employed as a dispatcher for various trucking companies in the Allentown and Macungie area, having last worked for Hookup Inc. until retiring in 2001. He was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli, Pa. He was also a graduate of Slatington High School, class of 1957. Carl faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S.Army from 1963 to1965. Survivors besides his wife includes a daughter, Karen J. wife of Jody Ziegler; two sister-in-laws, Diane wife of Lynwood Miller and Marie Zellers all of Slatington, Pa. and two grandchildren, Nathan and Katie Ziegler.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Nester Funeral Home- 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. Interment in Jacobs Union Cemetery, New Tripoli. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Jacobs Church Memorial Fund , 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066 and/or to Bethel U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 160 Fourth Street, Slatington, Pa.18080.
