Betty J. (Frey) Hermany

Betty J. Hermany, 87, of New Tripoli,  passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli, Pa. She was preceeded in death by her husband Wayne S. Hermany in 1995.  She was born in Jacksonville, Lynn Township, Pa., a daughter of the late Victor and Madeline (Hermany) Frey. Betty and her husband Wayne were the owner and operators of the former Blue Ridge Inn, New Tripoli, from 1958 to1992. In addition to a thriving bar and restaurant business, they hosted many banquets and different club functions and meetings.  Betty was well known for her homemade dinner specials ranging from lobster tails to pig stomach, as well as her famous hickory nut cake. Betty was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli  as well as the Lynnport and New Tripoli Fire Companies.  She is survived by a daughter, Donna E., wife of Carl Herman and a son Richard W. Hermany, both of New Tripoli; a sister Shirley, wife of Ray Hamm, Orefield, Pa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held onWednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00AM in Jacobs Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa.18066, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM.  Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate.  Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Jacobs Church Memorial Fund, sent to the above church address.
