Anna M. Smith, 86, of Kutztown, Pa., passed away in the presence of her loving family on June 28, 2015 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown, Pa. She was the wife of Merritt A. Smith, having celebrated their 67th wedding aniversary in October of 2014. She was born in New Tripoli, a daughter of the late Francis and Mary ( Gildner) Sittler. Anna was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Kutztown School District for 22 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown, Pa. She also served as a former treasurer of the former Kutztown Jaycee wives and a charter member and former director of the Kutztown Lioness Club. Survivors besides her husband includes a daughter Sharon A. wife of Martin Kozlowski, Kutztown; a son Kevin M. Smith and his wife Marta of Alburtis; a sister Mabel Heckler, Allentown; four grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Tyler and Logan and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Ethan. She was predeceased by her siblings Mildred Kunkel , Marie Henry and Helen Follweiler. Her Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 47 S. Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, Pa. 19530, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM. Rev. John W. Davies will officiate. Interment will be in Jacobs Union Cemetery, New Tripoli, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory are suggested to St. Paul’s U.C.C. Memorial Fund in care of the above church address.
